Which is the best place for scuba diving in Fiji? Yes, as you think in your mind it is Taveuni. It is the best destination for diving locations for the divers. You will never forget the diving experience as you dive and see the beautiful corals and the abundant marine life.

Taveuni is known as the Soft coral capital of the world and the water temperature is great through out the year. Water temperature is 22 C to 28 C through out the year. The visibility inside the sea is no less than 100 ft on each dive and Taveuni is rich in hard corals too. There is a place called as “Purple Wall” and this place is rich with colors and varieties of corals. You can see large sized fishes and sharks and even whale sharks some times in the place called as “Fish factory”.

Some of the other sites to visit in Taveuni are Annie’s Bommies” and “The Zoo”. Diving also happens in Maravu Plantation Resort in Taveuni. Other than these important places there are some other places like

A 10minute boat ride from Taveuni takes you to a place called as vuna reef. The shape of the place is like the letter C. it offers lagoon dives for beginners and exciting wall dives for advanced divers. There is a site called as STAIRS which is the favorite place situated in the reef. When you reach you are impressed by the soft and hard corals present in the reef.

This place obtained its name because a set of swim thorough is present like a stair case. White tip reef sharks are famous here and you can find these fishes as you go deep into the reef. You can also find leopard sharks relaxing next to you. You can also find some rare species like butterfly fish, moorish idols, trumpetfish and Maori wrasse and much more. Your dive depends upon the rise and flow of the current water not only in this reef but also in other places of Taveuni.

We all have weaknesses in diving, mine is Manta rays… and for sure this one is an amazing video. In this video you can really see how easily the marine life in Taveuni approaches to the divers. The reason? This is not a typical dive site or dive region. Taveuni is a location where marine life is not “used” to divers, and like any other places in the world, there are not “crowds” of divers waiting to jump in the dive sites. That’s why diving is so fantastic.

For sure Fiji is an amazing destination for all the divers looking for Shark Diving.
If you have never done shark diving, may be the experience of Shark Diving in Fiji, can be a bit… mmm… “strong?”. The fact is that the shark diving that you can do in Fiji is one of the best in the world, and it get’s as real as possible, so for sure this is not for the weak ones. If you do it, you need to be 100% sure you are ready to face the most amazon Tiger and Bull shaks of the Fijian seas…

If is always difficult to find the best location for scuba diving …. usually you can’t really ask diving operators, because they will always tell you the same: we are the best location! But in Fiji it seems that things are different. Because regardless where you dive in Fiji, all the diving operators are honest enough to confess one thing: Scuba Diving in Fiji is great… but if you want SIMPLY AMAZING diving, you have to point your fins to one place: Taveuni.

Now, trust me: I have dived in a few amazing places. I did my open water course in Egypt, I have enjoyed dives with Blue Sharks, Dolphins, Seals, Whales… I have been in amazing dive sites, with warm water, perfect visibility and unreal marine life. But diving like the diving Taveuni offers is very, very difficult to beat.

The main reason why Scuba Diving in Taveuni is simply the best scuba diving in Fiji is mainly because Taveuni is not one of that locations where EVERYONE goes. It seems that Taveuni has managed to remain a “secret” spot for serious divers, and when I mean serious divers, I’m talking about divers that understand the importance of diving in unique locations.

If you want to go in a boat with 100 tourists and jump in a dive site where the coral has been destroyed thanks to the abuse of diving operators, then Taveuni is not for you.

If instead you are smart enough to realize the beauty of untoched corals, where fishes are still ignorant about what a “diver” means… then Taveuni simply becomes the best location in Fiji.
